The Freedom Skatepark in Kingston, Jamaica represents a huge leap forward in access to the sport for Jamaican riders, hosting a space for learning, progression and events.
One of the two first concrete skateparks built on the island, I provided planning, design and budgetary support for the project as well as 3D rendering and site engineering review. A team of international builders were able to take the initial plans and expand upon them, including a large variety of creative street and transition terrain as well as a sculptural turtle feature, laid out in a functional and flowing configuration that optimized the fit with existing topography.
