Topaz Park is a new destination skatepark and pump track, one of the largest in Western Canada, merging accessibility and rideability in a unique way.
The skatepark is arranged with interlocking beginner and intermediate street zones, connected to a wide central corridor with real street features like a sidewalk with curb cuts. An ADA accessible path allows all riders to reach the deck of the deep flow bowl, while also being integrated in the rideable terrain with a banked hip and curbs. The pump track winds down a hill between oak trees to a dual jump complex and includes a separate beginner loop. Interactive sculptures by Germaine Koh were connected to steel in the skatepark for rider-activated lighting at night.
