In 2021, the Seattle Center campus was extended a block further from the Space Needle toward Lake Union with the creation of a new skate plaza, SeaSk8 5.0.
After extensive consultation with the local community including Skate Like A Girl, a variety of concepts including proposed roof designs were developed to ensure maximum functionality for local users. Featuring on-site stormwater infiltration, complex site integration, lighting & accessibility throughout. The new plaza also includes custom glass artwork by Perri Lynch Howard, salvaged from the old skatepark and converted into a new wall ride feature.
